Sam's family relocated to Dural in 1957, where he briefly attended Oakhill College before joining the family farm business alongside Tom Newman at the Uralla Road Chicken Feed enterprise. Facing challenging times, the family leaned on every available support.
Beginning his real estate journey at the age of nineteen in 1967 with R B Twivey & Co at Round Corner, Sam later established his own venture, Guardian Real Estate, in 1970. Operating initially from a modest office adjacent to the Burning Log (now The Madison), he further expanded by constructing Guardian House in 1971, a pioneering modern structure in Round Corner.
With a career spanning five decades, Sam has been intricately involved in numerous commercial, residential, and rural developments, both locally and beyond. Notable endeavors include extensive land subdivisions in 'The Hills' and Queanbeyan, encompassing 3000 acres.
In the 1970s, Sam built and owned in partnership, Dural Mall-Village Green at Round Corner, Knightsbridge Shopping Court and The Village Green on Kenthurst Road. Additional business projects, industrial developments in various Sydney areas, and residential projects in Galston underscore his diverse portfolio.
A longstanding member of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW), Sam has held leadership roles including President of the Northern District Chapter and participation in the Disciplinary Tribunal.
Locally, Sam has contributed as President of Dural Rotary and the Round Corner Chamber of Commerce.
With over five years of overseas experience in Macau and Hong Kong, Sam held the position of Deputy Managing Director for a company involved in establishing the Racing Club in Macau.
Currently in a business partnership at Manor Real Estate, Sam's wealth of experience remains highly esteemed both within and beyond the industry.
